IT goons should not be near pc, especially seriously stupid goons, and if any tampering with the software might cause losses in huge monetary terms
everyday, the IT support team next to my dept curse and swear at clients who are really helpless in IT and still dare insist they are right
they are wondering how come these peopel are allowed anywhere near the pc -

the thing i find about being in a big corp is movement. one gets to move around. so many different dept to either upgrade oneself or to learn a different pocket of the bank/finance industry.
there's a lot to learn and explore. besides, as one arms oneself with the varied experience, you become more marketable. particularly in risk or credit. investment of course if attractive but the life span can be short. i.e. if your portfolio get stagnant.
oops, am i talking too much? sorry
anyways, all the very best, ah lau hard work do pays off and you get that self satisfaction too. i did and i am sure u will -

no ... it's a distributed system ... we're extracting data from a remote server and opening it at another location ... it's not so much the physical linky but the protocol .... I was running SOAP ... there is a limit on the packet size ...Originally posted by laurence82:no back up?

and its scary esp if u are the only male or young male in a dept full of old office ladies, and when u think u are early by coming at 8.45 am when ur worktime is 9. u will see them already comfortably settled down and typing away merrily
