THank goodness in Singapore, we don't allow our hospitalised patients to develop that kind of addiction. Over there, 'human rights' cloud the real issues sometimes.
Sometimes, after my colleagues and I administer YET ANOTHER morphine / pethidine injection to one of these addicts, we'll go into our tea room and share, "Bloody hell, I feel like I'm just feeding a junkie!" -
i also like to look at the injection. if i look away, i tend to get startled when i feel the needle.

Darn hopeless painkiller addicts! THank goodness in Singapore, we don't allow our hospitalised patients to develop that kind of addiction. Over there, 'human rights' cloud the real issues sometimes.

My parents so cute... I left a box of Meiji Strawberry Meltykisses or whatever you call it in the fridge and they left it there even though expiry date over liao.
By the way, are these Chocolate meltywhatevers still available? -

I moved after 20 yrs and my parents had to drag me and my brother out of the house
Somemore from landed property to HDB flat cos "we no longer need so much space"
And it was really difficult moving coz I had to give my dog away -

Even the doctor we have who specialises in dealing with these addicts cannot do anything with them sometimes.
And the favourite phrases of these addicts are :
"I know, dear, that these drugs can get me addicted but I only ask for them when I'm in pain."
"I'm not addicted to Morphine / Pethidine / Oxycontin / All of the aforementioned." (Yeeeeeaaaaaah, riiiiiight! Because of you, we've had to get the Pharmacists to top up our Drug Cupboard everyday! )
"I am very careful about not getting addicted to these drugs."
Ah well, these addicts come from all levels of society too! Rich or not-so-rich, educated or not educated, blue collar or white collar, young or old. You can have a white-haired ol' grandma who's very polite and sweet, but who's a painkiller addict.
And almost always, they are in denial. -
