I engaged Kelvin Koh of lightedpixels.Originally posted by choco B:Which photographer did you engage?
I'm trying to convince my colleague that she needs an actual day photographer. She thinks friends with point&shoot digicams are enough
omggg u always pick the good stuff! good choice i must say.Originally posted by choco B:I went with photographers from Chris Ling LOL
Why don't you like Chris Ling?

Well, friends with p&s cameras can be a good thing, IF they have a innate ability to take nice pictures and they work as a team.
Ballroom lighting can play nasty tricks on some compact cams. And they may end up taking photos of their own cliques Then they may face problems of jostling trying to get the best view. If there is no appointed main photographer they may end up buay song for blocking each other.
If your colleague doesn't mind the pictures and he/she likes "raw" feel, maybe it is ok lor. But it's better to engage a professional so that if the pictures don't turn out well, you won't lose a friend
Tell her she will have more problems downloading, organising and deciding which to print after thatOriginally posted by choco B:I think her plan is just to tell everyone to bring a cam, shoot at will, then forward the photos to her
I've seen lightedpixel's website and package rates, I think he is beyond her budget .
Yup. Good to have friends to complement the professional photographer. But make sure they don't get in his way.Originally posted by the_don:I'm hoping to get my frens to snap some pics and send them to me too. A photographer is still one man and one man can only do so much.
it will be nice to see what others captured for the wedding.
my fren. who go married a few months back, had a photograher taking mini polaroids. everyone end up following the guy and taking photos of themselves. it looked more like a media event not a wedding... but then some pple like so to each his own la...Originally posted by sillyme:Yup. If available, Polaroid is a good alternative. One wedding I went had the couple's friends take polaroids and then sticking them on the guest book.
Another had a disposable camera at each table so they can take snapshots.
