The tea was good.
I dont know why I got tired of the food and yes yes! it was the tomato cucumber and onion salad too that saved the day. perhaps it was just too oily and rich.
Heehee mostly cos it is a full board package tour we ate at the lodges and hotels. but i noticed at some other places, people drank and then just put the cup back. hurhurhur...
even though its full board, a couple of the people on the tour had diarrheoa on and off throughout :O
Talking about upset stomach..it happened to me, but luckily it was at the tail end of the trip. I think it was bec I washed a peach or plum with their tap water. Yet, I was fine drinking some water from the flowing streams/waterfalls which the local men offered to me while on the road. *shrug*
At that time, the local men were very curious and attentive to foreign char boh.

I think they are generally very curious in most towns because u hardly see any women! Our guide says match made marriages are common and there is still a big communication gap between men and women because there is so little interaction before marriage. (Except with aunties or older women) In the towns and main roads of villages, we saw only men mingling in the streets. Only in the backlanes of the villages will we see women.
In one or two places I visited, tourists are not very welcome or viewed with more suspicion. This guy pointed his middle finger at me!
But mostly we were treated with warmth and respect. There really isn't many tourists still especially after Afghan war and all. Lots of Afghan refugees living in pockets here and there. i see for my whole trip less than 10 other tourists besides us.
I had only 1 time stomach upset, but I think it was because I was too cold, wind too strong. -

Hmmm the guest houses were quite ok really... but I have to confess the long hours in the coach was kind of dreary. the scenery is good but after a while, its really so many rocks passing you by. I must go for one myself.
And no, not bringing D200 because it eats batteries like nobody's business. Will bring a nikon FM with loads of film (the battery for the camera's meter lasts for YEARS muhahah) -

About $2600 +++ tt is not including other stuff I bought for the trip, i.e. new camera cos old camera stopped working.
An uncle on the trip brought a film camera too. I can't wait to see how his pictures turn out so I can develop
but the batteries also get cold one for the meter and decides to be flat. So mebbe u wanna bring one of those 'gloves' keep ur camera under ur armpit and all. -

those are mulberries... very very sweet and juicy
cherries too.. we pluck mulberries and cherries off the trees to eat them -
