  quite easy to make soup actually..
  
  put everything in and boil gently
  
  and yah.. the 'sharksfin melon' nice to eat

  I still don't understand what's so weird about liking a bittergourd.
  
  Can try frying the bittergourd with egg. It's not as bitter when it's in soup.

  I like the cai png stall dish where they have this bittergoud cook with egg shreds....
  
  the soup supposed to "cool" you down, good for health. Normally, i think the soup is steam with ribs or chicken, plus some herbs.
