  Hmm....read the news as of 21 July 2007 , it says the White Rabbit candy is safe to eat . The levels of the Formaldehyde is not sufficient to cause major damage .

  i was also curious . What if u eat it in large amounts ? Won't the substance accumulate ?

  White Rabbit is safe to eat....and the formalin is only is small amount. It is written in newspaper, that this is a substance that occurs naturally in food in low amounts.
  
  Just like MSG....doesnt mean only Ajinomoto has MSG.....cheese and fish also have low amounts of natural MSG.....

  hmm. but this means that everyone is right except china what. phillipines banned it on grounds that it contains the chemical - no specific amount was specified.
  
  AVA confirms that it contains the chemical but does not ban it because it is in minute amounts.
  
  so basically - it does contain the cancer-causing chemical except that phillipines decided to ban it regardless of amount, AVA decided to keep it as the amount was minute
  
  and yet china claims there is ZERO of it in the product. hmm.
