Anyway, I'll be wearing cargo pants throughout my trip... I have three separate pairs. The reason for them is simple: I can spread my money out over the various pockets.
So if I do get mugged, the robbers won't get more than RM100 from any one pocket. -

Of course I'm not planning to get mugged.... I'm planning for the event that if I do get mugged, I can limit the amount of damage the mugger can do to me.
In addition to splitting my money, I'll be carrying two handphones (my normal handphone + the one I use for reservist) as well as a spoilt 'dummy' handphone.
On top of that, I'll be wearing a secret money compartment around my left calf containing my passport, some money, my SAF 11B, and the address and contacts of the Singapore High Commission in KL.
So if those muggers try anything funny... I'll be prepared. -

Spreading your money among all the pockets might minimize the loss in the event you are pickpocketed, but if you're being mugged, I'm sure the robber will ask you to empty all your pockets.

And there's always the chance that the mugger might be in a state of anxiety and just ask me to hand him my wallet and handphone... without knowing that I've got many other places for me to hide my money as well as a spare handphone.
I'll also try my best to blend in and not stand out as a tourist.... though I figure that I stand out in KL as much as Michael Jordan would in a crowded marketplace in China. -

Fridays are usually pretty dead in the office, so I took the opportunity to sneak off with a couple of colleagues for breakfast at Mickey's Diner in downtown St. Paul right after I got into work this morning.
