I was under the impression that even legal DVDs ordered from overseas were subject to censorship screenings. Or have they relaxed the laws on that?Originally posted by the Bear:legal ones..
if you order and they deliver, it's legal you know?

It must be that online broadcast that's often quoted by some Sgforumners... A couple of Chinese guys in KL purposely go to a prata shop to order pork curry, pork murtabak, etc. until the very frustrated Indian shop keeper was screaming "no pork, no pork, I call police ah!" like a madman....very jarring to the ears.Originally posted by the Bear:what no pork?

no. we should do what itunes did in the US.Originally posted by the Bear:say.. talking about anime fans being financially sodomised by Odex, what say we try pooling our shopping cart and then ordering it from overseas?
There was no image...only text...that's the one, right?Originally posted by sbst275:That vid was kinda racist...
Seriously, I don't mind paying more if the quality is good.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:I was under the impression that even legal DVDs ordered from overseas were subject to censorship screenings. Or have they relaxed the laws on that?
In any event, Amazon's prices on anime DVDs aren't exactly attractive, at least here in the US. The two internet retailers from whom I order most of my R1 DVDs (anime or otherwise) are Digital Eyes and Deep Discount DVD. Both offer good selections and prices on anime titles, and both also ship internationally. Might be worth a look.

If you've seen Odex's VCDs and DVDs, not only are the subs horrendous, the image quality is terrible as well, yes, even their DVDs look more like heavily compressed divx files. Odex is run by a bunch of liars and cheats passing off pirated stuff as original and charging and arm and leg for them.
