  the anime he brings in are substandard and more expensive than other places... the subs are.. uhh.. substandard.. he sells crap and i bet he presses a lot of them himself as the packaging is nowhere like the stuff we see from other places (so, who is the pirate here?)
  
  he goes and tells the press that singapore has the cheapest and best range of anime in asia...
  
  but what broke the camel's back is that he started to sue those who download anime... he somehow got a court order and forced the ISPs to reveal who downloaded anime..

  boycott odex..
  
  he may win the court case, but when those who buy anime avoid and circumvent him, he's taking a one way trip to the bankruptcy court...

  Unless my memory fails me, I recall seeing anime DVDs by other companies (ADV, Geneon, Funimation, etc.) for sale at video stores on my last visit to SG late last year. They were pretty obscenely priced, though.

  i don't know how they ended up so expensive.. but they are very very rare.. the only ones around these days which are not obscenely expensive are from odex..

  From what I know... There's parallel import for video sometime last year...

  I can only say for food... If it's parallel imported, the importer takes the risk if anything happens esp items like guni hoon

  well, the places they bring in from, should have tested it..
  
  so import from those places you know have strong records...
  
  don't go and parallel import from places like afghanistan or something like PRC

  if you want to, make him prove his point.. take him to court, drag it out.. tax his resources..
  
  and most of all, boycott his wares.. make him go to a different court.. slowly... the bankruptcy court... because no one will buy his wares...
