I'm just wondering how many of you have tried alternative therapies. I'm referring to stuff like Acupuncture, TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Homeopathy (Western Herbal Medication), Aromatherapy, etc.
I used to be a tad sceptical about the efficacy of alternative therapies as a whole until acupuncture and TCM brought me relief from health issues that Western-trained docs couldn't solve. I found that with Western meds, you'll be given medication for a symptom to relief the symptom but it doesn't really solve the issue, then you'll be given another meds to deal with the side effects of the first meds and so on and so forth until you end up taking multiple meds, something that's termed 'Polypharmacy'.
Now that I'm in Australia, there are Naturopaths here and many more avenues of alternative therapies available, from the more accredited and long-established practices (Homeopathy, Bach's Flower Remedies) to the seemingly bizzare ones (like Crystal Healing, Meditation, etc).
Curiosity got the better of me and when I returned from Singapore feeling giddy and nauseous and generally 'out of whack', I decided to try a few of the therapies out of desperation. Namely, I tried Aromatherapy (burning essential oils in an electric vapouriser) and Bach's Flower Remedies, which have so far worked for me.
So, let's just discuss with an open mind - what have you tried, what have you heard from friends / relatives who have tried any of the therapies, and what would you recommend, etc.
