Since coming to Melbourne to work, I've noticed an unusual practice - whilst most of us were taught to brush our teeth once we wake up, and definitely before eating our breakfast, most Aussies would eat their breakfasts before brushing their teeth!
My b/f and I had a whee time teasing one another recently when I discovered that he ate his breakfast before brushing his teeth whilst I did it the other way round. I told him he was eating all the plague, bacteria poo and bacteria that thrived in his mouth overnight!
He told me I was eating my breakfast sans flavour because minty toothpastes tinge everything you eat and drink immediately thereafter with a minty taste so I was literally 'eating and drinking toothpaste'!
So, what is your practice?
PS. I still think that even if you brush your teeth before you sleep, you'll wake up to yucky, mucky stuff in your mouth which you shouldn't eat!
And mind you, most Aussies don't seem to brush their teeth before sleeping anyways!
