Yesterday, because I had to help a customer, I was in violation of labour laws. In CA, you have to complete your lunch before the 5th hour of work. I was slated for 4 hours and 30mins and I ended up leaving work 20 mins late. Even though I wasn't slated for lunch, I had to be outta there by the end of my shift. It's a never ending battle with the clock, where I'm concerned. How can you expect people on straight commission to just hand over a sale to someone else to ring up? Or take care of a problem by the end of your shift? Unrealistic and impractical. -
Well, you're only human, and it's easy to get frustrated when dealing with unrelentingly unreasonable customers. The company. After three violations, I can get axed. Speaking of axes, we have a new floor manager in training. I cannot stand it when people mispronounce the word 'Ask'. I know it's not politically correct to say this, but in my experience, there's only one ethnic group whose members invariably pronounce ask as axe.
Can I assume that the new floor manager is from this particular ethnic group? -
