Oyster sauce doesn't taste like what you imagine. A quick way I like to use it is in chicken stir fry. Tastes great. I bet you've been eating oyster sauce dishes without even knowing it.Originally posted by popikachu:How to used this to cook?

Can use to fry veg or meat . If you use it do not need to add any salt or soy sauce ... a little sugar will be good.
As for portion, if first time you try, put a spoon first, and add more after you try the saltishless...
Try cooking stir fry oyster sauce chicken with it.
Cut some ginger
fry the ginger, add in chicken pieces to fry.
Add Shao Hsing Hua Tiao Chiew ( chinese cooking wine)
When 1/2 cook, add some oyster sauce and seasame oil and sugar. No need to add water, as chicken will come out water or juice.
Fry till cook.
or
try oyster fry veg.
fry some chopped garlic,
add in veg
add some oyster sauce + little sugar
fry till cook.

If you can get fresh mushrooms, what you do is to slice it thinly. Stir fry the mushrooms with some oil, then pour in 1/2 cup of oyster sauce and stir fry till the mushrooms are really soft.
Or use a tablespoon of oyster sauce, mash up some century eggs and store in a fridge for an hour.
Edit: pour in 1/2 a tablespoon of sesame oil too. Really makes the century egg taste smooth on the tofu. Sprinkle on some chop onion stalks and you are considered a genius!
Then you scoop the century egg oyster sauce onto cold firm tofu and serve.
I also like to stir fry oyster sauce with cubed yams. Then transfer the yams and oyster sauce into white cooking rice and viola...you have yam rice! -

I've actually used oyster sauce for my instant noodles... nice!
But dun use it for your cornflakes or ice cream hor......... I've yet to be that adventurous! -

Some are just pure salt. But oyster sauce are best after cooking, or mixed with sesame oil snf frizzled on hot food. -
