You know ... I was told by an eminent fortune teller once that my love life was cursed ....
that I'll have many flings, but not meaningful relationships .... that everything I do for the people I love ... shall never be appreciated by the other parties ... I shall give and give and never receive .....
he also told me that true love shall come only once in my life time ... and If I miss it ... I shall never ever find another ......
Do you believe in such things ? ..... (for the record, he said a lot of good things about my wealth and fortune, so it's kind of tempting to want to believe him on that score) .....
I dunno .... those of you in the know would know that a lot has happened lately .... and I have never really believed in such things ... until recent episodes brought certain memories back ..... this was one ......
life is getting rather unbearable here .... I need a break badly ....

If he told you that you will not have any flings (not everyone needs meaningful relationships) then that might be a curse.
On this alone, I suggest you forget whatever else he told you. -

whoever says everything is pre-destined has no idea what the hell they are talking about...
and, go tell those who profess prescience, that their lives must be so terribly boring since they already know what will happen to them, so where is the mystery of life anymore?
do what we can, hope for the best and hey dude.. i'm already 38 and still looking, still the hopeless and hopeful romantic.. it makes live so much more wonderful, the anticipation and hope
dare to hope.. and work on that hope..
it's like faith.. all the faith in the world isn't going to help you if you don't do something about it
no.. we have free will.. and with that, pre-destination goes out the window... -
My dad told me this when I asked him about fate, and I think it makes a lot of sense and has a lot of meaning for me.
Basically he says when everyone is born, we are like a type of 'seed' - our fate is what type of tree we would grow into - rambutan tree, papaya tree, raintree.
However, nurture ensures that whatever tree we grow to, we can grow the best we can, to be strong and healthy, to bear fruit and lead a 'meaningful' existence regardless of whether we are common papaya trees or some fancy bonsai.
It's the same with relationships I guess. When we start one, we are never sure what sort of 'tree' it would turn out. Don't lose hope and keep trying. Unfortunately, different plants need different types of care. We might kill quite a few before we understand enough to keep one happy and flourishing.
Err most importantly, got to understand yourself too. If you are the type we really can't be bothered to read up, fertilise and water and sun ... something's gotta give if you choose to keep some exotic orchid that flowers once in 2 years or something. -
actually, i think all these 'fortune tellers' and other charlatans have a lot to answer for.. they seem to be prey on the weak-willed, the vulnerable and the hurt.. giving them false hopes, or dashing and breaking the spirits of people.. just to con a few bucks off the unsuspecting
don't listen to them... so what if you do not know 'your future' ?
make each day a new adventure because you don't know -
my mom had a friend who went to this fortune teller who was supposedly VERY accurate.
the fortune teller told her that she will have 2 sons and a daugher.
and a bunch of other stuff.
and things DID go according to what the fortune teller said!!
so then she was pregnant with her third child one fine day.
remembering what the fortune teller said, she went off and bought shirts and stuff that's supposedly for girls.
HOWEVER, the child was a BOY!
and after that, things didnt go according to what the fortune teller said anymore.
personally, i dont believe in this. but then again, neither do i believe that we have very much control over how we live our lives.
something we do today might affect our lives 30 years down the road. or not.
i believe that what we do does have some affect on our lifes. but how and when, tt i dunno.....
(i also dunno what the hell im talking about cos it doesnt seem like i make any sense at all) -
predestination and how you should live your life.... ahhhh... and this is where fundamentalist (as in original) Buddhism comes in... non-inherent existence, spontaneous arising (I am not a Buddhist, BTW, just a sympathizer and I do not buy into Buddhists fantastics).

My mom used to consult fortune tellers on my behalf and if I ever took one word they said seriously, I would have been most unhappy living MY life as how OTHERS have "dictated" it.... Frankly I think fortune tellers are a bunch of whacks...
YOUR life is YOURS.... and you are in control of how you live, how you love.... Things do happen and sometimes it almost seems like deja vu or someone had the ability to foretell the outcome but that's merely coincidence.
If anything gets you down, just remember that in this world, you're dealing with people... each with their own minds and free wills. Given so many variables, there are no absolutes to any situation... so if something happens and it seems depressing, know that there will be a bright side to it and look for that...
Cheer up.... and don't get bogged down by what fortune tellers say ok? -
