primary six. school dental clinic. I think the dentist used me as an experiment for maybe, his first root canal.Originally posted by jetta:Has anyone here had the bad luck to undergo this? I'm wondering if I have to endure this. Share your experience?

Nothing bad. I only have one erupted molar on the upper jaw that looks like an upside down mountain. The dentist said that it may grow longer and poke at the gum on the lower jaw. He recommends getting it extracted but then, all the dentists I've seen over the years have asked the same of me. I'm just chicken.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Two here. They were decidedly unpleasant experiences, especially when the dentist accidentally touched a nerve during the procedure.
(As a side note, one of the molars that had the root canal procedure done to it, fractured last year. The fracture went deep enough that the dentist was not able to use any of the remaining tooth as a foundation for a crown. I opted to just have the entire molar extracted.)
What's the situation with you?

I had to go back again and again, the senior that took over, she mumbled over and over what a bad job the first one did to the nurse and pulled it out.
er... that I remember that episode after so many decades, I presume it was not a pleasant experience at all, and possibly traumatic.
