My First Year and A Half in Melbourne!

Time flies! November 2007 marks my first year and a half in Melbourne!
Things have changed tremendously since! I've snapped out of the blues and I've started to creep out of my shell and explore Melbourne and the suburbs. The dangerous thing is, I've discovered shopping hot spots here!
*Red lights flash!! Alarms beep!!!
I've also done a lot on the home front. For the first time since I moved out of my family home when I was aged 21 years, I feel like my rented apartment is truly HOME to me. I've done lots to make it cozy and nice (pardon the perpetual mess and clutter though! 
) and I still have lofty plans to make it even better! The only thing that's stopping me is the moolah, or lack of thereof! 
OK, thought I'd just share a few special photos with you peeps to commemorate this milestone!
This is the very first 'crafty' project I embarked on. And I did it today!
Bought a lovely box with a glass top, decided to fill up the spaces with the flowers who took pride of place in my house during my first year in Melbourne, afterwhich I decided to dry them, and subsequently, didn't know WTH to do with them... until now!
Pretty or not? 
This represents my first year in Melbourne - in Flowers!
And here it is - my very first bookshelf here! 
Aaaaaand, remember how my entertainment area looked when I first moved in and set it up? Well, here is how it looks like a year and a half on!
Oops! I just noticed that you can see all my chai from my marketing done this morning! It's going to be Mee Siam tonight, folks! -

the flowers thingy is really cool. do u need to treat them or simply dry it up? anyways, nice and can frame up too.
i also noticed that santa claus with his reindeers. erm, from avon, right? i also got. *ahem* but the shelves need some "work" hor.
did u moved? this apt/living room looked bigger. wah seh....mee siam ah? hmm...wished i was there.
oh, i have more reasons to visit melbourne liao. my favourite nephew just moved this month. so now, i have 2 nephews in melbourne liao. if my sister going, i may tag along. don't be surprise if i show up at the door hor.
neyways, nice to hear from u again. missed chatting with u. keep the updates coming. -

The dried flowers? The humidity is so low here and the sun's so strong during Spring / Summer that all I had to do was place them on my generous kitchen window sill and let them dry naturally.
In the box are daffodils, strawberry flowers, baby roses, carnations, freesias, alesias, alstromerias, and other flowers I've yet to find out the names of. I think I shall get a guidebook to Australia's wildflowers and shrubs and trees etc to learn more and immerse in my life here. (I've already gotten hold of a pictorial guide to all manner of poisonous creatures here! )
