I was telling the guys yesterday that someone from PAP Times called up and said he was writing an article on the disappearance of Canned Pork from the shelf and wants to know the reason why.
I was dead busy yesterday so I didn't entertain him and said we don't import China products (which is true too)
I have not seen any ban from AVA so I would assume that there is a shortage of pork locally in China afterall the Chinese are importing pork into China like it is air, keeping pork prices high.
I believe their local demand might be so high that it makes no sense to export
Anyway these are just my assumptions

Ok I saw in TNP today under a really tiny column that the reason why Maling and Guong is missing is because AVA destroyed a consignment of these products after finding low traces of nitrofurans, a banned antibiotic feed to pigs.
They suspended all imports of Maling and Guong as AVA did not want to take chances but the article stated that the earlier imports passed the safety checks.
So that is your reason why your Maling is missing -

knn i just got this news on hk news too... but they are still selling it for now.. till it's confirmed......... knn ... i have eaten it fore more than 30 yrs lor... and i still got a few can in my cupboard now.....
so how many can u all wan? i bring back from hk lor.. S$10 per can ok? -
