I visited Penang over the Hari Raya Haji/Christmas holidays as a short getaway. Nothing fancy schmancy.... just some sightseeing, relaxing.... that sort of thing.
In this thread, I'll be posting some of the pictures I took. -
Masjid Kapitan Keling (Indian Headman Mosque)
If I'm not wrong, this mosque was set up by an Indian Muslim regiment of the British Army when they were first posted to Penang.
Masjid Terapung (Floating Mosque)
A mosque that supposedly floats.... though from what I can see, it seems to be on stilts. -
A batik-making factory....
Fort Cornwallis
Sir Francis Light built this fort when he first founded Penang. -
That's me parasailing at sunset off the coast of Batu Ferrenghi....

I suppose when the tide is high the mosque will appear to float.

I found the photo of batik-making very striking because of the bright and brilliant colours there.

side track abit, my penang colleague always make fun of my bak kut teh soup and call it as pepper soup. He said penang side is better? Have u tried it?

Me, I don't think I've tried Bak Kut Teh in Penang but I used to frequent this stall in JB, somewhere along some expressway, where their bak kut teh was fantastic!!
We used to live in Woodlands then and my ex and I used to drive into JB late at night because he wanted to save $$ by filling up on petrol over there and then we'd take a late night drive around JB. -

Beautiful pics fudgie. Although the second picture of you parasailing sorta of reminded me of Lat the cartoonist. The silhouette of your pants is just like the way Lat draws pants.
