How I spent the last day of 2007 and the first of 2008!

Over here, I turned down a party invitation because the last day of 2007 was incidentally the hottest day of the year in Melbourne as well! At a sizzling, furnace-hot 41.1 deg C, I wisely chose to stay home with my fans working overtime! I now am totally sympathetic to muffins and all manner of baked goods as they sit in the convection oven! 
There were strong winds too but believe you me, having a HOT wind blast in your face just feels like someone turned the hairdryer to high and is pointing it at you!
So, I chose to stay home because from my bedroom, if I squint through the neighbour's trees, I can actually glimpse a bit of the fireworks as they go off in Melbourne City!
I can hear them too so it's a really fantastic feeling! I can't see much of it because I'm being blocked, and too bad I don't drive otherwise, if I had driven over to my hospital and sneaked into one of the dayrooms in a particular block, the view would have been spectacular! 
And, to usher in the new year, I said a prayer that my endeavours will go smoothly. (And ok ok, I confess, for better prosperity too! 
) Also quickly went through past events of the year, wanting to learn from them and not commit the same error again, and thanking God for the blessings.
That's it! No drunken wild parties and all that! An interesting snippet - on the TV news today, the Victorian Police reported that there were "only 550 arrests last night across Victoria" and then proceeded to say that the crowd was "well-behaved"!
Apparently, the ambulance service fielded hundreds of calls yesterday too because of the heat wave. I even had to "rescue" my succulents by shielding them from the direct sun with newspapers because last year, in Summer, I noticed that some bits of the plant became "chao ta" (burnt), making me feel like a bad mother!
So tell us! Tell us!! What did you do? I already know TX was with his sweetie at the Waterfront watching the fireworks.

Good morning Rhonda, and happy new year, everyone!
We spent last night gathering at a friend's place eating and drinking. Incidently, my friend is from Penang and she cooked lots of yummy dishes in the Penang style like kiam chye duck soup, babi pongteh, vinegar pig trotters, chap chai, etc. It's the first time I've tried the zhu jiao chu and it's pretty good, actually.
This morning, I checked my bank a/c and found my bonus is still not paid yet.
Someone's head in HR needs to roll, and so I'm still waiting to see the money before deciding if I can go for a nice dinner today.

Went to giant and bought cheap sushi then went to the beach and spent it with hubby and my parents eating sushi, crackers, peanuts until we saw the flares, happy happy then went home

I spent my last day of 2007 waiting for 2008 to come, and spent the first 2 minute mass sent Short Messages by phone and Tagging Everyone's blog.
After that, I went to my usual location to see some stars but last night was cloudy
Anyway but still, I enjoy the cool wind brushing my hair. -

Still new year's eve here. We had KFC for dinner because I have a bloody cold. Don't want to cook and infect the rest of the family. We're not doing anything special. If we feel in the mood later, we might head to the supermarket and buy some sparklers, who knows? In the meantime, my cable TV service is on the blink. The hubster's been on the phone with the cable company for the last 20 minutes and we've only just got a live person on the phone!!!!! ARgh!!!!!

I spent my last day of 2007 updating the picture in sgforum. Was suppose to act young and join the countdown in Marina with mrs seveneleven. Guess you can't "act" when you reach my age. Once you are glued at home, it's not easy to tear yourself away to go out again
I woke up at 7am on 2008 updating again. Will "TRY" to go out with mrs seveneleven for a walk...maybe to Mt Faber -
countdown was abit of a letdown la.
i spent it with church ppl, cuz my dad's cluster leader open house.
first day of new year, started off with UFC 79 =P -
It's now 705pm and we're still trying to get our cable TV service back up. Bloody hell, at this rate, we'll miss the countdown.

I saw a police car patrolling my neighbourhood late at night yesterday. Good to know they're out there protecting the rest of us who choose not to get drunk and/or drugged. -

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! The cable tech guy says there is nothing he can do for us tonight. The earliest a tech can come out to redeem us is Saturday!!!! That's a whole lotta days!!!!! What are we going to do without TV for sooo many days?!?!??!!?!?

1 n half hours in Jam....then fudge it.. went back to my place. I spent sweating inside the bar watching all the customers having fun. I cant even get out of the bar and to the retail section.. even the retail section was packed to the counter. MADNESS!!!
