As long as this kind of fear don't escalates into anger, hatred and you respect homo as long they don't disturb you and don't impose your idea in how they live their life.. i think it is okay to be homophobic..
there are all kind of people in this world with phobic. Homophobic is one of them unfortunately. But really, we are all human.. despite of races, cultures, nationality, sexual orientation. All of us have equal right to be happy and be respected by others.. simply for being a human being.. -

I don't mind them homos, I can even be perfectly professional with them in a working environment too .... (provided they are professionals about it too), I don't mind them living together, brokebacking in private .... but hey, if they can't help being the way they are, I can't help being the way I am either, it's something inborn, no ? .... so why am I to be castigated for being the way I am, just because I am on the wrong side of the liberal fence ? ....
For example, someone may work alongside with people of other races, but will not accept their own relative marrying someone of another race - is this racism?
Or if someone speaks to their colleague at work, but refuse to be associated with them after hours socially - is this discrimination?
No, I don't tihnk anyone expects you to change your mind about things. But having started a thread on this, I guess you would need to expect different views on this issue as well. -

I have lived with two gay men and I haven't had any problems. They are pretty good at helping me find a gift for my girlfriend. Socially, I go out with them...no issues....as long as it's not a gay bar (to avoid misunderstanding)
I don't consider myself homophobic although I am dead against the attempt by the gay community to forcibly change the law, against the wishes of the majority. -
I might get a shock but that's probably about as far as it goes.

i guess its hard to say whether you are homophobic. I dun even think its fair to use that word on anyone who disagrees with homosexuality. Personally, I am a staunch christian who takes what the bible says as authority but yet I have no problems hanging out with gays and lesbians. I am probably what some people call moderately liberal christian. There are of cos people i met who totally are put off by homosexuals and prefer not to hang out with them.
But whatever you feel and whatever you decide to do and behave towards homosexuals does not warrant name callings, like homophobic. You are an unique person who doesnt have to conform to what everyone else is feeling. If the whole world feels that you should be comfortable hanging out with gays but yet you do not feel so, then be true to yourself. To be honest, who can say whether you are right or wrong in this issue?
People on this side of the fence call the other side homophobics, what will the other side call this side of the fence whom they think are enemies of moral standards? Moralophobics? There is no end.
So i guess, dun be too upset about how you feel. You decide how you feel. Afterall, its your feelings you are talking about. -
