u can strike off "good night life"Originally posted by Rhonda:tare, I read your post about the expensive cab fares and I'm really astounded at how expensive the fares are these days!
Excuse me if I'm being a tad paranoid, but I used to tell Aussies who'd ask me about Singapore, that it's a good place to visit because :
- it's cheap to take taxis (strike off list);
- cheap and good food;
- good shopping (strike off list);
- good night life; and
- it's very safe and relatively crime-free.
Looks like I'm fast running out of selling points.
it's still a cheap place .... my highest taxi bill came to C$110 ..... so taking the taxi in singapore is still damm cheap ...Originally posted by Rhonda:tare, I read your post about the expensive cab fares and I'm really astounded at how expensive the fares are these days!

Eh... Fatum, excuse me for asking but are you paying those cut-throat matchmaking agencies who will find you a nice, docile, foreign wife for an exhorbitant amount of money?Originally posted by Fatum:no lah ... I just wanted to make as much money as I can, from wherever .... it's all going towards my wifey fund kitty ....
no ... but I promised myself to give her van cleef and arpels and vera wang for our wedding ....Originally posted by Rhonda:Eh... Fatum, excuse me for asking but are you paying those cut-throat matchmaking agencies who will find you a nice, docile, foreign wife for an exhorbitant amount of money?
Whilst it's nice that you want to pamper your future wife, I think having a wife should be an asset, a partnership, not a financial liability. Why would you want to shackle yourself to a high-maintenance woman?
But oh well, some men have their brains shifting down to the er... nether regions, probably due to gravity. If you willingly want to be slave to one of those Princess types, then be prepared!
hwa chong kids nowadays beat up bus drivers tooOriginally posted by Fatum:last weekend I was on a bus 171 ride into town from upper bukit timah ... passing by Hwa chong institution and NJC ... a bunch of khaki shirts got up ... and proceeded to "fxxx here, fxxx there" ..... loudly ! ... tis the hwa chong caliber nowadays ? ...

she's down to earth and is not pretentious ... but i've made it a goal to let her lack nothing in life, a life with me, you know ...

[b]I finally know what love is, after so many years of marriage. I gave all my money to my wife and transfer all my assets to her. I feel so peaceful now. My wife is a changed person, she feel more secure, treat me better than before.
I realize love is about giving without expectation of return.

I rather you are saving for a rainy day for the kids.Originally posted by Fatum:and I don't mind this stress ... this is how I protect and love what's mine .... I putter around in $2 great wall brand singlets and blue rubber flip flops, but I want only the best for my loved ones ....
Fatum, that is very good adviceOriginally posted by viciouskitty74:I rather you are saving for a rainy day for the kids.
Because when a child is sick, vera wang, arpels or van cleef wont be of use.
I understand your sentiments, but take it from someone who had such hubby. Its great feeling for a while, but what counts is in the long run.
That's so true! If I were getting married, it wouldn't thrill me to have expensive, branded gifts thrown my way. I'd much rather the money be spent in creating a decent home, and if he comes with plenty of moolah to throw around, then I wouldn't mind having two dream kitchens - an indoor and an outdoor one!Originally posted by viciouskitty74:I rather you are saving for a rainy day for the kids.

when the kids come out, the focus will be different of course ... small fatums and fatumnettes will take precedence of course ...Originally posted by viciouskitty74:I rather you are saving for a rainy day for the kids.
