club 30 labrador park rabbit fishing + picnic outing

we were talking about this last night ...
Where : labrador park
When : 2 Feb (Sat), time (own time own target ... the hard core fishos (read: me) will be there by 7am .... ), go inside to meet us there, it's a small park ...
)
What : fishing plus picnic (?) plus beach walk at evening low tide
Target fish: rabbit fish aka peh toh haer, or CNY fish .... they come in to spawn around this time, and they are fat and juicy
what to bring: your own fishing rod and reel (a dirt cheap combo set would do if you don't have one), and of course, food .....
and also bicycles and roller blades and frisbees if you are so inclined .... remote controlled toys would be great there also ....
what to do : eat drink, play and be merry .... we can make it a picnic outing, or can detour for a gluttony session at vivo afterwards .... there's the bay to explore, similar to chek jawa ... and also the "sentosa tunnel" if you remember your "hey Singapore" ...how to get there: by public bus Parks 408 from Harbourfront

I wun fish lor ....my last incident: the fish bite the bait and it almost drag the fishing pod along to the sea......the kelong uncle knocked my head..for nearly losing his fishing pole to a fish...
and i cannot bare seeing fish gasping for air in agony...i will cry..

but my luck with catching fish so far is terrible -
there are swarms of small fish there that'll pick at your bait all day ....
we'll be fishing with a float .... so it's interesting to see your float dart down underwater suddenly ...

i don't mind going, just to take photos for fun.
i don't fish. my last fishing trip ended up with my shirt smelling bad and the smell never went away. -

And you guys might as well bring those portable disposable bbq pit and some charcoal & tongs. -
there are pits there ......
and if you guys are good and nice and well behaved towards fragile marine life, we can take a walk at the bay, and I'll point out snapping shrimps, crabs, snails and wat not to you guys ....
maybe next time we can arrange an over night pulau hantu "tawn" or something .... -

No I don't have my own fishing kit but it sounds either therapeutic (in Grey's Anatomy) or exhilarating (in old man and the sea) so I'd like to try it out. (okie, disclaimer ... I enjoy anything involving the ocean, but diving supersedes fishing, if I can dive, I wouldn't fish, but since I can't dive everyday ... fishing'll have to do sometimes ... ) -

there's plenty of trees there along the break water, and it's very shady .... so don't worry about the sun ...
