Now, good bar zhang I haven't seen. I don't trust the Vietnamese ones.
Better not mess with the customs here. You can incur quite hefty fines, and you might appear as a 'special guest star' in their program, "Border Security"!
I can do that at homeOriginally posted by Rhonda:If only I had photoshop... I want to design a Club 30 banner with elindra's gulper and my tassie devil (because they love food) and use the tagline, "Feed me, can?"
I love the gold coins too! Soo tender... hmm.... Which Sg mags are you getting? Don't forget to whack some nasi lemak hor?Originally posted by Rhonda:I love love love the Bak Gwa coins.
Think I'll arrive in Singapore early in the morning. I'll take a cab home, follow my parents for breakfast, then when they drive off to work, I'll go to Holland V and recce my old haunt and buy Singapore mags and eat a 2nd breakfast. Sssshhh... don't tell my parents!
And then, I'll go to the Bak Gwa shop and buy 1/2kg of Bak Gwa coins and hide from my parents because they'll nag at me not to eat so much!
Can can!! I must remember not to say "Whooooaaaaaaahhhh!!!" because the last time I returned home, mom said I sounded like some country bumpkin, everywhere we went, I was soooo happy I kept saying, "Waaaah!!"Originally posted by zoragirl:wah....tats expensive

What's for lunch?Originally posted by av98m:all this bak kua talking making me hungry...........
50 minutes more to lunch
My 2nd breakfast shall be either Nasi Lemak or the Bee Hoon with tons of assorted stuff from that famous Holland V nasi lemak stall. And... "Auntie, give me lots of sambal chilli, ok?" Usually praise them by saying, "I think of your nasi lemak a lot when I'm overseas! Come back only, first thing is come to your shop!" and then I'll get one HUUUGE dollop of sambal chilli!!Originally posted by jetta:I love the gold coins too! Soo tender... hmm.... haven't decided.Originally posted by jetta:What's for lunch?

Not just that... I think if you squeeze it, you'll end up with a handfull of very tender (and also extremely expensive) fishballs!!! The more you squeeze, the softer the fishballs!Originally posted by elindra:I can do that at home
The Gulper is so cute I wanna squeeze it but I won't
Because it has spines that can sting me and that will hurt like hell
I can't stand lap cheong either. Or any kind of Chinese lap cheong I love love love pineapple tarts and kueh kapek. Two of my most absolute faves. Oh and kueh rose too. Hmm....Originally posted by elindra:I like to buy Food & Travel and Asian Geographic (besides National Geographic)
I think I'm very 'un-Chinese' in the sense that I dun like to eat bak gwa and lap cheong and eewww to Taiwanese sausage

Quick bak kwa recipe : Slice at least two pieces of bak kwa into strips. Heat oil in wok. Throw in minced garlic and sliced onions to fry. Throw in bak kwa to stir fry quickly. Throw in a handful of vegetables like kai lan or chai sim. Toss. Remove and serve hot with rice. Niiiiiice!!Originally posted by av98m:all this bak kua talking making me hungry...........

She said, "Like never eat before like that!"
"Yah mah!! More than a year never eat wor!"
But really quite embarrassing because I kept having to explain to the storeholders / cashiers that I had just returned from overseas because they look at me real funny.
You're like me. That's why when ah Bear said 10% off pineapple tarts, my heart skipped a beat. I called my Mum to ask if she wanted to get some but she's already put in an order with her friend. She's bringing 200 over for me. Yippee!!!! She's coming over here first week of March, heading to my sister's place. Sis is expecting her third kid. So Mum is tompanging lots of stuff for me.
