There are some things here which I like compared to the old forums which are the smileys

I think those who complain about the new format without even giving it a fair trial period are just whiners. They just wanna complain about anything and everything they can get away with.
If they wanna leave to other forums, all the better!
Do they think that by making such a 'threat', Jason will beg them to stay? 
Looks like they aren't able to adapt very well, but can kpkb super well!

If only the smiley page is bigger, then no need to scroll down to click on the smiley that you want..

Yeah! Music from that era is special somehow.
These days, the singers are all more like the ou3 xiang4 pai4 instead of the shi2 li4 pai4 idols. :P They don't last long and their vocal prowess... well, I won't even call it prowess lest we insult the likes of Sally Yeh and gang! I have learnt to appreciate a lot of things about Singapore ever since I came over. In fact, I get feedback from Aussies who've been over to Singapore too. I think I should start a thread on Appreciating Singapore. Or should I just write to The Straits Times?

I appreciate lots of things here, though not perfect but we do have it good here. Anyway, is there even a perfect place? I doubt it.

Very true, kopi!! I think quite a few of us share the same sentiment! Don't want to pay to use the service, and yet, kpkb the loudest!
I think it's a pretty good effort by Jason and already, there are a few winning features that I love about this new format. At least, it was a really smooth transition with very little glitches. Quite commendable, really.

Yeah... I can understand that a major overhaul like this one would take some time to implement. Certainly there are a lot of bugs to be ironed out, etc.
I say let us all give Jason some time to sort it out.... if anything, I've always felt that an overall change of interface is long overdue.

yes, its way overdue already.
everyone is comfortable with the previous format, but they are not around when it was implemented and people had to get used to that

Well, there is no Utopia here on Planet Earth.
I think the sooner we come to accept this, the happier we'll be. In every place that we live in, there will be things about the place that we love and rave about, and things that we dislike or hate, but no matter what, it all boils down to making the most of your situation.I won't call myself pro-PAP because there are things that I find dodgy.
But then again, I do not like what happens over in SC where they rant and rave like lunatics and tear down everything about Singapore. Seriously, how much life experience, how much overseas exposure do these people really have to warrant all that complaining about Singapore? We may not be the best, but we're certainly not the worst! There are so many foreigners here who come from countries like Poland, Ukraine, South Africa, Lebanon, etc. and if you're friendly to them, they will not hesitate to regale you with tales of appalling living conditions and political suppression and/or economic hardship in their homeland. Tales of communism, tales of rampant crime, where you fear for your safety every single day of your life... If you take all that into consideration, Singaporeans have it good.
And yet, they are dissatisfied!
Sometimes, really don't know why they are kpkb'ing about. You know what a few Aussies who've travelled over to Singapore have asked me? They look puzzled when they find out I'm from Singapore and they ask quizzically, "Why are you here? You live in such a wonderful country!"
And last evening, I had a visitor in a patient's room gush on and on about how wonderful Singapore's hospitals are because she had to visit a GP whilst in Singapore recently on holiday. She blatantly said, "Singapore's health care system is top-class! Here, it's like 3rd world!" This coming from a fair dinkum Aussie! We ought to be proud!

Oh boy you should see all the bitching about the health care here
One thing though we do need more hospitals and doctors because the wait can be terrible but I understand that is the same everywhere.
