and men's photos don't have to be tweaked really, they look rugged with the rough skin.
smoothening makes them look gay.
And eye liners too

i don't, because people don't understand what i shoot.
that's why i'm so damn happy my friend is going 200% into the shoot with all the wild ideas.
i held back for a start, then she started to suggest toilets and cyber make up then i knew it was my chance to get shots i want.
and its a wedding shoot.
Originally posted by kopiosatu:kinda, baseline will be the art director, i'll be taking the photos.
we'll discuss the concept and stuff.
and yep, when its done... we would put it up as an exhibition.
sometimes i wonder why half my foot is in the "money earning" world, worrying about satisfying customers when what i really want to do is art.
But why can't you simply take artistic photographs? Just slowly build up your portfolio in fine art photography and make your move?

Sounds a lot cooler than the typical cheesy pre wedding photos taken along Clarke Quay.
Maybe if you include captions with your photos? Or expose them to a different pool of audience? Feedback may be entirely different!

budget, because my ideas are quite bombastic
but i can always do a re-think, figure out how to get things done cheaper.
i still need models, props... cheaper ones. and i don't like those "flower vase" kinda models.
i like those spontaneous, crazy kind.

i'll have to do some minor graphic design.
she's planning to get it done like an art gallery, so when people walk in, they can walk through the gallery instead of the usual album print.
and it won't be done until june, that's a long way to go.
feedback from typical singaporeans "wedding photos like that? siao ah!!!"

Think I've seen your photos somewhere on Clubsnap before. The one in your profile is filled with personal works right? Reminds me a bit of dave hill's wackiness.
Yeah sometimes it can get pretty frustrating when you can't find audience in your favorite works. But hey who cares, this time round as long as your clients/friends (and yourself) are satisfied, that's all that matters.
you have insulted kopi by putting him with crapsnap..
only violence and blood will appease him now..
or maybe soap

someone who can give me a david la chapelle shot.

Why? Although it's predominantly filled with equipment wankers and rich amateurs in IT, there are some pretty good shots featured from time to time! Why would kopiosatu foam?

I think that cola can was photoshopped.

i haven't been to clubsnap for the longest time.
the sick thing is, i took some photos and they ask me "why chop off the head?"
then bloody hell, 2yrs later, some more well known photographer takes a photo with the head cropped off, its "wow, nice shot, very unique"
(middle finger)

Ok then why did you chop off the head? Sometimes there's got to be a reason or influence right?
Originally posted by soleachip:I think that cola can was photoshopped.
it doesn't matter, everything is photoshopped.
and i support photo editing / manipulation to get the picture you want.
unless you're talking about photojournalism.

the smile, the action happening with the hands.
people are so used to seeing people with heads, i kept the smile and action.
influence during that time was scott & tem photography

I guess it really depends on the type of photography you do. It's definitely necessary in fashion, glamour advertising and editorial.
Photojournalism yeah, read some reports of journalists getting sued over it but still the temptation is there. Especially in the digital age!
i love shot like these.. wtih any kind of camera.. it's just the subject.. which is: only in Russia..

i foam because it's predominantly filled with equipment wankers and rich amateurs in IT
that's enough to drive me away.
anyway, i'll stick to improving myself as much as possible away from them.
USA, here i come!!!! but bloody hell, my heart is in thailand.

But if you sequence the photographs, chopping off hands, legs, or even certain facial features is acceptable because it doesn't ruin the whole imagery. That's disheartening to hear.
lol, the whole country is art itself
