Here are a few random photos taken from my walks around my neighbourhood that turned out pretty alright. They were taken in late Spring 2007 - early Summer 2008. Sometimes, it helps not to take our neighbourhood for granted and see it through different eyes and enjoy their simple beauty!
First up... "Pine-ing for You"! Corny, sia?!
Graffiti Art is very common around Melbourne, esp near Train Stations and in the suburbs. They might be considered a public nuisance, but I think they are quite talented and creative.
Flowers and a white gate... what says ''Country" more than this?!
Sea of Pink...
Followed by a Sea of Blue...
Gemstone? I drew quite a few stares as I adopted a squatting position to zoom in on this pretty stone. Heng ah, no handsome men were around!
This photo was just BEGGING to be taken!! So chaotic, so picturesque, and perfectly 'natural'!
Walking Home... I love walking down my street. So many pretty houses and gardens around!
The Enchanted Forest... and it's right by my gate! I just decided to take a different perspective to things that I see daily and voila... this photo has an almost magical quality to it, I feel!
These trees actually look like giant stalks of broccoli! Pretty kewl!
And ladies, if you do not use moisturisers religiously, this is what will happen to your skin!
cool! what a beautiful and refreshing neighbourhood

Everytime I walk down my neighbourhood, there's always something new to see! It looks different with each season too!
I can't wait to return home to snap photos of my neighbourhood in Singapore. See how much things have changed and see if I can catch the beauty of my old home.
thks fer the reminder.
i shall go slap on my moisturiser beri sn.

It's indeed a wonderful world!

You love flowers too? Since I have a fellow flower fairy here, let me dig out more flower photos! BRB!
Not to be a cold blanket or whatsoever, but nothing beats the greenery here in singapore. And also, graffiti is common, u just need to know where to find it.
Very lovely pics Rhonda :)

But the graffiti here in Sg is usually vulgar and obscene unlike those in New York. Don't know about Melbourne though coz I haven't been there....

Hmm... actually, MG, the neighbourhood isn't picturesque, it's just those one or two items when viewed in itself that appears awesome. Of course I hid the mounting piles of rubbish, the potholes in the pavement, the rusty, run-down cars, etc. You got deceived!

Believe it or not, I do not have any worthwhile pictures of the winter landscape around here.
But I do have this:
No snow, can or not?
NO winter landscape photos?! How can that be?! Methinks you've lived there so long that you've taken it for granted?
I'm planning to head to Mt Buller with a colleague or two in the middle of the year to experience snow!

Are you planning on doing any skiing when you visit Mt. Buller?
Okay, I lied. I actually have a few images I took of the snowbound landscape around my neighbourhood a few years back. Not much to look at, but here they are (click on the thumbnails for the full-size image):
And a few taken on one of my flights in the club plane some winters back (these are rehashes, so you might have seen them before on this board):
Edited because my HTML-fu is weak.....
Waaaaah!!! Love the winterscapes taken from aboard your plane!! So mesmerising!!!
Do you often take your girl out on your flights?
are you going to post insect-pr0n like av now that the local huntsman has been gassed to death by you?
Loved all the pics MG.
All these pics cannot get in S'pore....but!
I don't believe S'pore doesn't yield nice pictures...

Well, none of us here ever said that you can't get good photos in Singapore! I have a few really pretty shots of Singapore that I show my colleagues or look through now and then when I'm feeling a little homesick.
