I just had the scare of my life!! I'm still shaking from the fear and shock that I want to cry! I was about to go to bed, when I turned on the bedroom lights, and saw this :
Creepy!! I was literally shaking with fear!! I ran to the living room, grabbed my digicam and my trusty can of insecticide, and sprayed on that creature, again and again... and again and again... It just wouldn't die!! It crawled all over my pillows and doona, and I just kept on spraying and spraying it, but it just wouldn't give up the ghost!! Then finally, after almost emptying the can of insecticide spray and whimpering like a scaredy cat and shaking incontrollably, the thing decided to die!
What in the world type of spider is this?! It's so darn big!! Imagine if I had fallen asleep and it had come to bite me?! It left yucky strings of web all over my pillows and doona too! I'm tired, but I daren't crawl into bed now in case it sent its brothers and sisters to come after me!!
I kept the spider specimen. I'm going to find out what kind of spider it is and if it's poisonous.
It looks kinda cute...
huntsman spider..
not fatal.. usually painful bite..
may cause swelling... that's all..
a little ice will do..
some species may cause irregular heartbeat, vomitting and nausea.. but not fatal.. seek medical aid..
they're generally harmless and will scuttle out of the way..

Oh... so that's the famous huntsman? How do you identify it?
So... if I see a huntsman next time, I should still kill it first before it kills me, right?
pink ribbon??
All it wanted was a nice, safe, warm home... and you had to kill it.
Just kidding! Looks pretty dangerous. How big was it? There's nothing else in the images for a size reference.

I am still shaking from fear! Blardy spider looks so huge!!
they usually grow up to about 4 inches across..
pretty cool...
uhh.. it's big, flat, fuzzy and is not aggressive..
wait until you see the tarantulas.. those are pretty cool.. but a few are aggressive while the rest are pretty okay.. and the move slower than most other spiders..

MG, this is the size of the spider. Don't forget its legs are curled up in death, so it doesn't seem big, but IT IS, ok!! It it huge!!

but its looks small to me
That's the spider's underbelly! Look at its fangs!!
And this is the spider from the front.
No more in my home, please!! NO MORE!!!
