You wanna help clean up the aftermath?

I think insecticide is still the cleanest method! :P These are not your tiny Singapore spiders, k? These spiders move like they are autobots!
hahaha! then catch it with a cup then let it free somewhere els haha!
yeah.. cover it with a glass, slide a piece of cardboard under and release it outside
Wasted sia, the spider so big i will catch one, then look at it and feed it with some bugs. when i was a child last time my hobby was catching and breeding spider.
u look at how the spider approach the prey and yet not alerting them, then suddenly like a spilt second the spider got its fangs into the prey.
some will do a some wrapping with web so funny if u seen how they does it, others just suck the juice out of them.
btw TS u need to be careful of spiders bigger than your thumb, not inculding the legs. only spiders this big is capable of bitting through your skin and causing pain.
Just catch it, put it in a ziplog and freeze it. You can use it for cocktail if desired....
Omg... faint....

you'll not die from its bite

Already shivering and whimpering and won't even stand anywhere within a 1-mile radius of the spider, you think I can walk up to it and do what you recommended?! I even sprayed it from a distance because I was so worried it will do some flying leap and end up on my head or on my face! I watched its legs crawling up and down my bed, I get goose pimples all over, because it seems to be so well-coordinated and it seems to move with a purpose! It's just really scary watching it creep around!! So many legs!!!

Yeah, won't die, but the bite is apparently very painful. Medical services here is extremely expensive and I'm not about to risk getting bitten and suffer the anguish and pain and then burn a huge hole in my pocket!

Called my mom last night and told her about the large spider. My mom CMI in the reassurance dept because she gasped in horror, then she exclaimed, "Check your entire bedroom! Maybe that spider has laid eggs in some corner!!"
Made me unable to fall asleep easily last night! Made me so spooked out too! I thought moms are supposed to calm you down, not introduce yet more fears in your life... This year's Mother's Day, I'm going to conveniently forget the day!
All thanks to my mom, I now worry of spider babies invading my bedroom every night!
lol so funny taking pics of dead spiders

Here, it is wise to take photos of the spiders before you kill it... in case you get bitten in the process, and your doctors treating you need to identify it. The reason is simple - there are lots of poisonous creatures in Australia, spiders included. A few of the breeds are actually poisonous and can cause serious harm, so it's best to know which species you're dealing with so you can be treated properly. Heck, I don't wanna have a limb amputated just because of a silly spider bite!

that'll be the Brown Recluse Spider... it's only found in North America

One of my American friends did get bitten by one! She ended up hospitalised for more than a month! She took photos of her bite and showed us. It was really yucky!! Bleah!
Spiders can be stowaways and end up at the other end of the world too, y'know! I don't want to be the first documented case of a Brown Recluse Spider bite in Australia!
Oh, and you know what... after you mentioned Redbacks, I've been fearful too! I go around to the shed at the back, notice the spiderwebs, and can't help but wonder...
redbacks usually have "tripwire" lines..
not truly webs but they put out lines from things like chairs to the ground.. when ants or other bugs walk and touch the line, the line breaks and the hapless victim is stuck to the line which then springs up and entangles the victim...
the actual "web" looks like a mess without the symmetry of other spiders...

Be thankful if you don't get your bananas from Brazil. Wandering Spiders have been found as stowaways among imported fruit in Europe.
hmm.. reminds me of.. Arachnophobia!!
silly movie but i kinda enjoyed it

They are so intelligent that they are truly scary and formidable!! I watched a documentary on Animal Planet that showed a circuit box full of Redbacks and this man had to 'pretend' he didn't know they were there and put his hand into the circuit box to turn off some switches whilst looking elsewhere and I was thinking, WHAT THE... !!! How could they have allowed that man to get THAT close to the Redbacks, knowing how poisonous they are?!!
