but the asswipes of SIA should learn some humility and some humanity...
i still think the con-men-sultants who inflicted such practices and beliefs in the SIA senior management (and lots of others) should be taken out, and summarily tortured to death..

the scary part was why the letter was published in the first place ... does the editor of the PAP times think so little of the intellect of Singaporeans ? .... maybe he had to fill up he page for layout's sake, but can't publish other, more "politically correct" letters ...

I've seen worse....Like the one who called for the government to clamp down on people wearing T-shirts with logos like 'McSh*t' and 'Starf*ks'.....
Or the parent who complained that swimming instructors should not touch the shoulders of their students in the middle of lessons.

you know, now things are starting to fall into place for me .. that partially explains the lousy service I've experienced on SQ flights .... if you're working for a company which doesn't stand up for you, and will hang you out to dry instead, would you give your best for it ? .....
and crew members I know tell me that the young lady is a lot braver than we know .... they say that chances are, she'll soon find herself out of a job ... cos she's already been branded as a trouble maker by management for bringing this civil suit against a (business class) customer ....
nope .... I won't be patronizing the company for a long long time ....

the case is before the courts because SIA did nothing to stand up for their employee .....
if they did, would she have to fork out her own money to file this civil suit ? ....
veterans of the company all tell me the same thing: that this girl shall loose her job soon .... they'll find any sort of excuses, customer complaints, poor attitude, bad performance, whatever, to get rid of her ....

SIA should have had the stupid woman arrested for assaulting their staff the moment the plane touched down.. the pilot should have called ahead for police to assist.. the rest of the crew should have subdued the mad woman...
that should have been in the SOP of SIA..
and not the sycophantic "protect the customer even if the customer abuses our staff"

Precisely!!! I'm really shocked that they didn't do just that! It's physical assault no less!!
If such a thing happens in my hospital, we can immediately pull a cord that triggers a Code alarm and all the nursing staff in the ward will run to our aid. We can also call a duress no. and an announcement for Code Gray will be called immediately, with Head of Security and the Nurse Unit Managers and Coordinators and etc etc running up to assist. See how they protect us at work here?
