kekeke. I love to bargain shop. Especially for branded goods. Only when it is necessary or when I need them. I try not to impulse buy. But it is oh so tempting...

You are making miss that 'Ross' shop at Santa Ana California.

Sometimes you get those branded sales here :P which they don't really publicise
Recently I picked up a Hugo Boss T-Shirt for 10 bucks SGD and 2 Nautica Polo Tees at 15 bucks each and a Polo Ralph Polo T for 15 bucks too :P
Polo Ralph = Big pony one?
Wah 15 bucks! Damn cheap!!
Originally posted by breytonhartge:quick question, Rhonda, you mentioned about trying branded cosmetics/skin care products, what would you be looking for? How many females here use branded skincare products?
Let's see... quality ingredients, first and foremost! Go take a look at Natio / L'Occitane / In Essence / Crabtree & Evelyn product labels and how they market their products. I find it really appealing. I mean, who wouldn't want to slather on shea butter with olive oil, Vitamin E, Oils of Roses and Camellias, Milk, etc.
The way you word the labels on the products is also very important. Key words to use would be : luxurious, rich, soothing, moisturising, smooth, sensuous cream, absorbs well into the skin to make it soft as satin... you get the drift. Hehe! Kinda like letting the words flow like milk and honey to entice the buyers.
Word association is important too! I think I'd love to try a brand that's called, say, Goddess or Mt Serenity, as opposed to something teenage-sounding like Pink Chick.

Not the big pony version
The older one
Anyway I think the Big pony is kinda ostentatious and kinda ugly -_-"
I mean yeah I like Polo Ralph but I don't need such a huge logo to inform the whole world I can afford Polo Ralph -_-"
seriously nope

Oakley, Billabong, Gap are considered mid-priced brands
LV, Prada, Armani are considered higher priced brands :P

No pref. The nose decides.
Pfft - brands. Too much for a simple guy like me.
Seriously, form follows function. I get accused of being well dressed, even by my boss who wears nothing but Brioni. The sad truth is that at 8.05 in the morning, when my eyes are pinpricks, all I want to do is grab anything out of the wardrobe and head out the door, so I just get stuff that I don't have to think about. The brand doesn't really matter, as long as it fits a basic formula:
- two-button single-breasted suit, made at least of Super 100 wool
- French cuffs
- Egyptian cotton's nice, but cotton-rich is easy to maintain
- silk ties, woven and never printed (unless it a Hermes)
- pocket square similar but not identical to the tie
- no rubber soles, quartz or ballpoints
Doesn't get much easier than that before your third coffee of the day.

That is simple?
Who does the shopping?
Sure it's simple - once you get the parameters worked out, putting together combinations is really easy:
And I do all the shopping - hell, I've been dressing myself since I was 30!
its hard for me to get the same print of tie and hankies together
Sure Ged, any suit will look like a million bucks with all the Rolex watches to go along with them :P

Nah, matching ties and pocket squares are tacky. They need to be similar but not matching.

... and what did I say about having combinations match without thinking about it?

Oh my gosh! So spiffy and well-coordinated! You must look a million bucks each day!
I think the value of your entire wardrobe can more than pay the deposit for a townhouse liao!

Thanks, Rhonda! Unfortunately, it's a necessity - dressing well simply makes up for a multitude of sins.
As for how much the wardrobe is worth, you'll be surprised. You know I love using four-letter words, and my favourite of all is SALE!
power dressing.
