When push comes to shove, it's gotta be beer for a good old blue-collar guy like me.
That said, there's some pretty nice wines out there, and what about beers that are now being produced in vineyards (e.g. Moo Brew, Knappstein and Pepperjack)?
As for champagne, well, the first thing is that as of a few years ago, champagne can now only come from Champagne - everything else is called brut. Moet & Chandon is rubbish and so's Veuve Cliquot - I'd recommend either Bollinger or Billecart-Salmon, or Krug if you're in the mood for splashing out.
I just evened the score with my boss last week - I used to hate champagne until he introduced me to Bollinger, and he hated Scotch until last Friday when I brought a bottle of Laphroaig to the office.

Burt is a very dry Champagne... If it's not made in Champagne, it's just called sparkling wine..
For me it would be beer even though i'm currently in a sommelier school in Canada.

I realised recently there are more ladies drinking mojito cocktails.
Port is not low class and neither is it made with left over grapes.. And yes, port is still classified under wine though it's fortified.

I drink beer in public/open places.
Wine only when it was me and friend cosily snuggled somewhere quiet and chitchatting and finishing at least 2 bottles of wine, preferably with cheese snacks.
Hard liquor at home or at a karaoke rooms only.
