  yeah it got much better towards the end of it when you're close with your platoon mates and everyone else.

  but the first day still sucked the most, and time just seems to pass so slowly on that day.

  just got back from gym, makan and movie with my colleagues.

  we went to tiong bahru market. the food is disappointing... the old stores just weren't up to standard like in the past. but at least the roast meat is crispy.

  then we went to watch 10,000BC. try not to bring your brains along when watching.

  well, if you think about it, the egyptians whose records start around 4000BC wore makeup, why not?

  btw... the ancient egyptians actually refused to work because they were denied their rations of eyeliner

  my father was telling me how lucky i am to get 400/month while he only got 90.

  but thinking back, when he served in 69, 1 plate of noodles costs like 50cents, so with 90 bucks he could buy 180 plates.

  i get 400, but 1 bowl of noodles costs like 3 bucks, and i can only buy 133 plates..

  the money didn't increase at all..

  i wonder if the anger against the terrorist will become so intense that the truck drivers get together and go hunt down and kill the fella

  recruit i got $135... at that time, noodles were $2

  medic i got $245..

  I got $240. And that was back in 2002 when 1 bowl of noodles cost perhaps $2.50.

  Work out the rest of the math yourself.
