  i managed to catch Wing Commander on TV in thailand in January.

  man its so sucky, not sure about the game though.

  the first flight sim i ever played was TIE fighter.

  MOE wants to set up a new sec sch called Sch of Science & Technology... It's kinda more into practical hands on approach, like attachments for the students

  Anyway, they asked one of the five polys to do the cirriculum

  What are they trying to encourage? seriously. just learn the basics in pri and sec school then go on and decide what you wana do from there on. I totally see no purpose in this new sec sch.

  they will still learn the basics, those are add on

  but the method see the website also a bit diff

  At the lower secondary levels, the SST adopts an integrated approach to learning while providing a firm foundation for upper secondary levels. For example, Geography and History subjects are integrated and offered as new subject, World Issues : A Singapore Perspective. Students studying a topic on terrorism will be able to view it from both the geographical and historical perspectives and hence gain a deepen understanding of national, regional and global issues.

   

  The integrated approach draws learning from the different disciplines and allows the students to view issues from multiple perspectives, thus engendering the creative mindset. Integrating various disciplines makes the relationships between the components explicit and blurs their boundaries. This prepares students for life and work in the 21^st Century.

  But merging Geo & History in tat example is something new

  merging geography and history? hmm.. i told that to a principal before..

  told her that both should be taught side-by-side and how the physical geography influences events which cause history and how the movement of people causes the physical geography to change.. and all that.. cause and effect..

  instead of like now, memorise events.. memorise places and all that.. it's boring as hell.. give them a holistic story of humanity, everything changes..

  but i dun really understand also, cause i didn't think np life science was as good as sp one.

  but maybe sp is only good for engineering and aviation.

  NP is still under MOE?

  right now, the biggest challenge for MOE is to excite children to want to learn, rather than figure out how to cram as much data (still not information) into children as they can
