today, is the proofreading of my project...
if it is all right, we can ask for colour-proof already next week..
and if that is all right, it's printing time!
*keeps fingers, toes and eyes crossed*
i guess having a smooth run was wishful thinking..
my boss, seeing the printouts, has decided to change a few things already..
thing is, these things were changed to the current things because of her instructions in the first place.. now she's changing her changes..
Good Morning.

My 50L backpack with my toiletries bag, tripod, 2 toilet rolls, slipper and a water bottle, and a bulky sailing jacket (acts as water resistant windbreaker) ....almost full liao.

when i carry both, my front is as big as my bag...!
tonight, tonight, i must think how to repack!!

Just read TODAY just now.
Apparently, some idiot wrote in a couple of days ago asking the government to ban char kway teow and other unhealthy food from restaurants and hawker centers, citing his daughter's obesity as the reason.
WTF?!?! What kind of food you eat is your personal responsibility, not anyone else's! I guess it must be pretty typical of the attitude of many locals huh..... blame the gahmen for every damn thing and refuse to take personal responsibility in the process.
I'm glad to see that all the respondents to his letter labelled it as 'ludicrous', 'ridiculous', and so on. Gives me comfort knowing that intelligent life still exists.

As a father, isn't it also his responsibility to make sure that his daughter eats the right kind of food?

Most likely that father is someone from SC where they don't think there is something called personal responsibility

though I think the more prosaic reason is that char kway teow is too precious to the Singaporean soul to be banned ...

But really, man..... what you eat is your responsibility and your responsibility alone.
What the government can do is to promote healthy eating.... and certainly, they've been doing a lot of that, what with the HPB campaigns to get people to eat more fruits and veggies and to reduce their intake of fats and sugars. And surely that's already pretty good in itself.
What this fella is suggesting is that personal responsibility be pushed to the government..... is it any wonder why we're called a 'nanny state' when its own citizens don't want to take responsibility for their own actions?
To put it bluntly, he's really not much better than those fellas who want to sue McDonalds citing their food as the cause of their obesity.... sheesh....

people sue mcdonalds (and ciggy companies for that matter) over in the states, because there's an overpopulation of lawyers there, nothing more ...
it'll never fly in singapore ...

I think it's slowly moving there because these days ppl sue over the stupidest things and how many times you see in the papers the judge scolding the lawyer for taking up the case
