that aside, SAF is guilty of howlers.. like the case where my medical centre picked up.. guy in his medical docket says he's afraid of the dark, being alone and afraid of dogs gets sent to patrol a dark hanger alone with a dog...
and also not to excuse the negligence of the SAF people, way too many conscripts keng until you just want to slap them.. a lot of genuine cases get lost because too many cry wolf until the real cries for help are dismissed offhand...

Which is why.... when you're being dishonest, whether you realize it or not, you're hurting a lot of good people.
With too many kengsters, the genuine cases all get dismissed as 'chao keng' cases.
Psychiatric medicine is especially open to abuse by the kengsters, since it can be hard to distinguish genuine cases from the fake ones. Once there was this bugger in my BMT section who shirked all his duties, couldn't be bothered with neatness and his own personal hygiene, and took Attend C at his own whim. Out of 100 days of BMT, he was on MC for at least 30 of them.
During range he auto-fired three rounds into the side wall and nearly killed his buddy and a safety spec in the process. He was clearly negligent, but claimed that his weapon was defective.
After the armourers declared that his weapon was fine, he immediately requested to see a psychiatrist and declared that he had a 'psychological breakdown'..... end result, he still passed out from BMT and got some slack vocation somewhere.....
.......WHISKY TANGO FOXTROT....... I hope I never see that bugger again....

but war w/ lard is not easy cos now lard is cheaper than vegetable cooking oil

though I pity the chap for contracting glaucoma, I don't think it was the dust that did it ....
but yeah, there were plenty of excuses as well .... when I was still a chao botak in hendon, reporting sick was like being interrogated as prisoners of war ...
there were a bunch of MO's who thought their slackened commando occifer conversion course makes their balls bigger, and thought every report sick case from the botaks were chao keng cases ...
we had to report sick in full pack, and sit cross-legged in the court yard in the sun for hours till the MOs deems himself ready to see us ...
and invariably, they'll call up the medics to practise inserting IVs on the chaps who report sick ... those farkers will order IVs for whatever fark reasons ... stomache, fever, leg pain, back pain, whatever, doesn't matter ... it's all IV practise for the medics .... maybe the medical council should investigate these MO farkers ....

Cooking with lard taste better :PI made the kimchi my mum gave me unhealthy yesterday.
First I poured seaseme oiil in a pan and dumped in lots of minced garlic
Then I added in bacon and then the kimchi and stir fried it till dry
Super yummy with porridge

anyway, i wonder what happened to the BMT guy i kena inflicted with.. how can someone complain so much is beyond me..
he kena chicken pox, he kena german measles, he missed all the route marches, he missed all the major exercises, he missed the IPPT test, he missed the SOC test, he missed the range test, whatever they assess your BMT, he missed...
he was allowed to pass out from BMT... he was still PES B, and given an insanely senang vocation of "optical instruments mechanic"..
he was complaining that OETI was far from his home.. and that as a stay-out personnel, it meant he has to travel a lot everyday...
i was stopped from beating the hell out of him..
