No more Chai San Si?!!!
OK, tomorrow, I shall hop down to the Asian grocery stores and stock up on them! Recently, it was hard to find the Bak Ting (Spiced Pork Cubes) from my favourite brand, now, it's Chao San Si!

Eh? Here, I can still find those leh!
I was quite thrilled to find Yeo's canned food and packet drinks, as well as Ayam Brand's canned food here!
And there's a wider range of all manner of chilli sauce here than in Singapore! Grocery-wise, I like it here better!

Oh yeah... the better and more prominent the display area, the higher the premium! Marketing and Advertising.

Indeed, supermarket politics is common. Suppliers have to see the face, sar-kah and give festive presents to some buyers (usually those who rose thru' rank & file type) so that their products will remain on choice location on the shelves.
I received the same email and I thot it was fake too...it's just too much work and too much time to convert chopsticks into cheap food.
Had to be a hoax. Bamboo belongs to the grass family and grows at a very fast rate. Harvesting shoots is relatively cheap and fast as compare to soaking chopstick in jars of preservative for god know how long.
If u are afraid, just go for the full shoots can instead of those pre-cut/sliced shoots. I bet u cant fake those.
