Quite a while back, documentaries and news focused on full-body scans and even genetic testing that can actually tell you your current state of health, what illness / diseases you are likely to develop, and even project your mortality.
If you had the chance to do such a test, would you?
There seems to be a divided opinion on whether such tests are 'good' or 'bad'. Some folks don't want to know and just want to remain happy-go-lucky and live life to the fullest, come what may. Others would rather know so that they can take precautions that will help prolong their lifespan and provide that needed impetus to start healthy lifestyle habits.
So, what about you? Would you rather know, or not?
your insurance premiums would go up ....
I think I would, if it's provided free or at little cost.
I'm quite a hypochondriac, and knowing would probably stop me from worrying excessively over things that I will know after the scan, probably doesn't have a likelihood of happening.
If there are health issues that are red-flagged, at least, preventive measures can be taken, early treatment sought, to kinda try and nip it in the bud. It will also provide me with motivation to eat well, exercise more.

Well, so far, there's no legal obligation to reveal the results of these test to the insurers, and I don't think any insurance companies are sending their clients to such tests yet. Not when it costs thousands of US$ a pop!

if you're a hypochondriac ... wouldn't it also have the effect of working you up over the high risk items ? ...
nah ... it's best not to know ... ignorance ...... is bliss ....
haha... a test that can help predict your future state of health instead of relying on palm reading.
Hmm.... I may consider spending a few hundred SGD for a full health check-up in the future. You know, just give my body a look-over and make sure that everything's working fine....
But a few thousand USD for body scans? Nah.... I'll pass.

I'm thinking of doing that myself... when I return to SG. It's so much cheaper to have that done back home, than over here. After living here for two years, my definition of 'expensive' and 'lousy public transport' and 'far' has been re-defined!
I will go i think. I do medical check ups yearly.
Knowing ur health makes u more aware i suppose. But then , knowing can be bad. But if it can increase my insurance premium.. hell.. why not. LoL! I worry letting those immediate ppl know my insurance premium.. wonder if my future wife may murder me if i dun give her no more spending cash. he he
