Anyone alive in here?
The good news is that I've pretty much finished the rough draft of my thesis after including my final experiments, all the heavy-duty analyses, etc etc....
The bad news is that I gotta do a sh*tload of editing in terms of thesis structure, grammar, vocabulary, etc....
40-page main body + 90-page appendix.... #$&^@#^$#@......

Dang.... I hated Ex Lancer. Rained every single day except for the day we left Brunei.
I was forced to clear the infamous Seven Knolls even though I suddenly came down with high fever just a couple of hours before... simply put, the distance to the nearest evacuation point was further than the distance back to camp. Besides, there were only two medics left in my coy, and the no-duff casualties were piling up. I was nearing the point of collapse when the exercise was finally cut.
Ex Crescendo in Thailand was much, much better..... hell, I'd say that the terrain and environment there is a lot more hospitable than what we have in Singapore.

Oh yah..... my SOF CO forced all of us to clear the Seven Knolls in the dark.... even though the SOP clearly stated that there was to be no movement in the jungles of Temburong after sundown.
Freakin' psycho.... want to be the first to do everything spectacular..... we were really, really lucky not to have any serious no-duff casualties.... though my company alone had a few pretty bad ones.
My Encik dislocated his shoulder, one sect comd broke his wrist, one platoon runner broke his shin..... the list goes on.

i woke up at 6am today and the sun was rising already.
knn, sun sets at 6.30-7pm... everything earlier than SG.
oh yeah... there's not medical centre at our camp. want to report sick must go to clinicn outside :S

Huh.... they shut down the medical center at Lakiun Camp?
There was a medical center there when I was there five years ago.

i am lucky that i never go to indo for any ex. Heard from my friend that even the buffalo also will die if there are made to climb the mountains...haha
Anyway going to chicago in a hr time....back to the cold and windy place again... :(

but it wasn't for exercise, it was for tsunami relief efforts.
and i can't wait for the day i take a one way ticket to USA!

I have enuff of usa already.... All the burgers and fries haha.
Do let us know when u go there. I believe the place u go has 1 forumer stay there. Do check us out in the singaporean oversea. ;)

This was the 3rd one we've checked out and I have to say I like it the best because it has an enclosed non-smoking area. Even so, we had to walk through the smoking area to get to the non-smoking area. Haiz. The other two we've experienced left me with a really bad headache because their non-smoking areas is barrier-free. I don't see the sense in that. Everytime we go, we come home reeking of cigarette smoke. Yuck!

Once you get over the honeymoon period, it's easy to resist the "gastronomical delights" here. Only because you start to pine for Sg fare.
When you do, head for our "Chinatown". See you there for dim sum.
