Those are simple, but very practical and effective contraptions. With the large wok sitting snugly, you can toss the food around and ensure even cooking. Nice!
I'm proud of my wok... it has a nice dark sheen to it now, because I took proper care of it. It started as a cold, nondescript stainless steel wok, but now, it has 'guo1 qi4' and is my formidable tool in the kitchen for churning out my meals.
Someday, in the distant future, I will invest in a good set of pots and pans.
i go search my peektures..:)

Great
I was looking for a good recipe
And these days I hesitate baking because someone is ballooning like the Gulper fish at home
And he does a perfect imitation of the Furby Toy 'Feed me Feed me' too

No perfect kitchen of mine is complete without a chef and cleaning staff.

I saw that circular kitchen a while back. My first thought was, claustrophobic and not practical.
The sinks aren't deep enough nor wide enough. You can't wash your regular wok properly with the wok brushes there without splashing the greasy residue and soapy water all over the floor.
The work area is not large enough.
You can't store the sauce and condiment bottles near the stove because they can be easily knocked over. Besides, once again, not enough space to allow you to do that.
Also, not enough gas burners. And the ultimate crime for an open-concept kitchen - no rangehood!! Man, the entire place is going to fume up and smell when you do spicy Asian cooking there!
I guess if you rarely cook, the kitchen will work. But for the serious cook, it just won't do.
I got a feeling that quite a few of these kitchen designers don't actually cook.
yeah but they look oh so pretty
A kitchen can be both beautiful and functional. The sleek stainless steel look is practical too because they're easy to clean.
If you're setting up a dream kitchen for heavy duty cooking, can skip the usual Best Denki brands or Meyer showroom and head straight to the commercial kitchen suppliers. They can outfit your kitchen with high BTU burners and deep freeze freezers. Not all equipment may be compatible with HDB kitchens though LOL
i like high BTU burners..
and deep freeze freezers...
these things are practical things people don't look for in kitchens.. but when they start using their pretty kitchen, they realise they've gotten a very expensive kitchen capable of cooking instant noodles only

I don't think stainless steel is easy to clean :x
I think they are a pain in the ass and need polishing too.
However I think this special glass I use is damn easy to clean. Just wipe with water :P

Nooo? Water can wad. I use Cif for everything. But need to keep dry else kena water marks haha. I think the scratches make the kitchen look nicely "worn" leh eheheh.

Surprisingly, I think the commercial kitchen suppliers are able to outfit a home kitchen cheaper than if you go to Best Denki!

For wok cooking the way it was meant to be, there's no other way but high BTU burners.
For a while, I was toying with the idea of getting a separate freezer because I committed the error of buying a small fridge. I forgot that I would just be cooking for one and it's practical to freeze portions of food for later. Because of my limited freezer space, I end up cooking, freezing the stuff, and eating the same ol' for the next few meals! Sian!
