hmm.. horror..
how about.. Audition...
This is in wiki:
Audition had its share of audience walk-outs. When shown at the 2000 Rotterdam Film Festival, one enraged woman viewer confronted Miike by shouting at him: "You're evil!" During uncensored members-only shows at the Irish Film Institute in Dublin in 2001, some patrons collapsed in apparent shock. One audience member was rushed to the St. James's Hospital but later discharged himself.

Thanks for the reminder. R21 when it was released so I couldn't catch it! Double horror fest tonight, need to make up my mind whether Audition is high cinema mind trip or just romantic getaway for a mental filmmaker. hehe...
Only serious followers of S&M would be able to stomach that movie.

Heh, horror factor 4 out of 10. No shivers down my spine. Few gruesome scenes.
Was bout to download some of the movies listed here. Went to read up on Bear's recomendation of "Freaks" and it seems well, damn FREAKY!!
That show was ranked 15th on some TV list of the 100 Scariest Movie Moments.
Gulp. Think i'll go for comedy shows recomended man.
I love Into The Wild directed by Sean Penn. It's a Hollywood film not shown in Singapore. It's based off the book by the same name.
Watch the trailer and be inspired.
"Into the Wild recounts the life of Crhistopher McCandless, an actual student-athlete at Emory University,
as told by his sympathetic sister. In response to a materialistic,
manipulative, and domineering father, McCandless destroys all of his credit cards and identification documents, donates $24,000 (nearly his entire savings) to Oxfam, and sets out on a crosscountry drive in his well-used but reliable economy car towards his ultimate goal: to live alone and off the land in Alaska."

woah.. sure i'm getting this .. sounds unbelievably shocking.
anyone watch Hostel I & II? good stuff that one..
i liked this movie...
a bullshit "team-building" exercise of a motley crew of cynical corporate cubicle dwellers, headed by a useless and incompetent boss turns into a bloodbath as they get lost in some Eastern European hellhole
Into the Wild rocks man, i love the hippie town
Severance was hilarious right from the start. Take for instance the opening sequence where the two whores were found running butt nekkid around the forests, it's incredibly stupid when you discover later how they ended up there in the first place.
Somehow these english horror films are always set in eastern europe.

Came across the title a few months back, will get a copy later. I think he took his last self portrait outside an abandoned bus before he died later in a sleeping bag.
Hopefully the adaptation lives up to the book. Why do they always disappear into alaska anyway? What's so special about that place? Aurora borealis?
For cult horror, The Dog Soldiers and The Descent.
Dog soldierss: Fresh Meat is coming soon. woohoo!
Few of the more disturbing ones,
Blue Velvet
Irreversible
i liked Blue Velvet...
it was strange and surreal..
"it's a ear"
"yes.. it's a ear"
and the ants were a good touch..
Dennis Hopper was weird as heck...
i enjoy the weirdass stuff by Lynch.. which is probably why until this day, my favourite TV series remains Twin Peaks
Watched blue velvet years ago but I remember fragments of Dorothy running out into the park and screaming her head off. It was a shocking and very bizarre scene.
a woman under the influence - john cassavetes
It tells the story of a young wife and mother's uninhibited, erratic, psychotic behavior which leads her violent, confused husband to commit her for psychiatric treatment, leaving the family even more dysfunctional than before. The film stars Peter Falk, Gena Rowlands, Fred Draper, Lady Rowlands, Katherine Cassavetes, Matthew Laborteaux, Matthew Cassel and Christina Grisanti.
chinatown (not so sure if it's cult but it's bloody damn good) - roman polanski
Chinatown is a 1974 film directed by Roman Polanski featuring many elements of the film noir genre, particularly a multi-layered story that is part mystery and part psychological drama.
Chinatown... she's my sister.. she's my daughter.. she's my sister..
damn but that's great storytelling..
