lol... it's to be placed at Bedok Reservoir...it's more for display purposes... cos dunno is it e Germans decide to place some of the original Berlin wall remains here

So, the remnants of an icon of what was once one of the most repressive regimes in modern history is to be put on permanent public display in Singapore.

I wonder what's wrong with my PC... my Firefox program seems to be running in patches! As in, I see the background of my computer screen and I have to wave my mouse icon over areas to have it fill in! What the hell's happening?!

Try rebooting your PC. Wouldn't hurt to run a virus scan too. -

Turns out that my habit of minimising my Firefox window before leaving my PC in Hibernation mode caused it. All I had to do was close the Firefox window, and when I re-opened it, it loaded updates and then, problem solved!

So pissed with self! I was watching the final episode of Ladette to Lady, Series 1, when I somehow fell asleep when the ads came on. I woke up about an hour and a half later and I have totally missed the finale!!
I don't know what happened, who won! I came online to try and look for info, but I can't remember the names of the girls, and can't find photos of the winner! Darnit!! I really ought to blardy check into a Sleep Disorders Clinic once and for all!

Thing is, you can see the hunger in some PRC's, Koreans and Taiwanese in wanting to learn English. And then in Singapore, where the environment is so darn conducive for learning English, we have idiots aplenty whose English language skill is so atrocious, it's horrendous!
Soon, Singapore will no longer have any competitive advantage over our neighbours.

I think it's a function of our education system than anything else ... and no, I'm not blindly bashing the garbarment again ....
we do have a class of english speakers in singapore who speaks a very acrolectal form of english .... same as everywhere else ... the core failing of our education system is the emphasis in speaking and every day usage over fundamental grammar skills ...

You know why???S'poreans are often reminded to speak proper engrish at all times when the govt fails to understand that the core of the problem lies with the command of engrish.
