  sure...

  thanks... from what i saw last year, i think they paid the guy a miserly $900 for photography, printing of a bunch of 8R with some kind of text and crest mounted on wood/glass frame, a CD or DVD of the pics, and an album of 4R pics of the event..

  yah.. 4 hours..

  and i think these fellas will just anyhow shoot, no artistic shots or whatever... just to document the event, shoot the prize winners (group) with the guest of honour, shoot the VIP giving speech.. crowd shots.. things like that..

  print out a few good ones into an album, print 8Rs and put in frames for the prize winners, send CD or DVD of pics.. all within a week..

  say one 8R is $2.50...a bunch say 20x8R is $50.00

  Frame, say the cheapest : $10.00 each : $200.00

  an album of 4R ie 30 x $0.50 = $15.00

   

  the rest would be his photoshop works time.

  which may take say..5 days?

  that means about app. $120/day..

   

  ist my estimation correct?  just a guess..

  you don't count your photoshop work in there

  its just calculating the output costs and how much you'll be paid for the photography on the day itself.

  and to know the actual output required, u need the requirements from the company.

  best if they just want it on a DVD.

  that's usually the case for events.

  i found out that nobody cares about the arty farty shots.

  bottom line is to just get as many faces in as possible.

  some of my kakis are b&$^ing abt e rice prices.. I actually told them, there was alrdy signs showing of price increase aft countries like India banned rice exports. Back then e increase was small and in stages... it was only later it rose to a level tat people started panic buying tat caused the spike

  Asians at heart.. no rice cannot survive

  actually I'd forsee this matter and stored rice when the increase was small 2 mths back

  two reasons for my thought: harvest season is only in Oct, wat they're selling now is the remaining tonnage from calender yr 2007's harvest & furthermore w/ lesser tonnage for exports aft countries like India banned exports

  That is only for the Southern Chinese which rice is a stable

  In the North they eat more noodles than rice

  I'm also chinese ma but I dun eat rice I won't die :P

  I won't even miss it. Hehehe

  you guys go think about this:

  • arable land is being lost (erosion)
  • climate change (Australia is still in the grip of a 5 year drought)
  • population increasing like mad (in 2050, they estimate about 9 - 10 billion)
  • oil/fertiliser price increasing
  • pressure from biofuel production
  • insane levels of deforestation
  • increased pollution
  • insufficient clean water

  these are some of the things affecting the planet right now.. and in the near (not distant) future, the pressures on humanity will cause the biodiversity, and lots of other things to become unsustainable (if not already unsustainable).. there will be a tipping-point where there is a general collapse of everything we know and there will be a massive die-out of the species...

  we are living on borrowed time by pulling energy out from the ground and then throwing it into the air with oil..

  which is why i always question the wisdom of "increasing the population".. i won't want my child to live in a world just to suffer through the catastrophe which everyone deludes themselves will never happen...

  i went without eating rice for 1 1/2 years when i was in melbourne

  didn't miss it..
