  Oh yah.... a little anecdote from my trip to Chiang Mai....

  Me, the FS, and a couple of other tourists were at a pasar malam. We were standing in the middle of the road, talking pretty animatedly.

  Then suddenly, we realised that the whole street was suddenly silent and that everyone was standing at sedia position. The only sound was music coming out of a radio somewhere.

  That's when it hit us - they were playing the national anthem over the radio, and everyone was standing at attention out of respect for it.

  I gotta hand it to the Thais for their patriotism.
