the most striking thing I guess, looking at my friend, a navy chap, who got himself a mail order bride ..... is the reaction of our circle of friends ....
he's my age ... and many of our friends are already married too ... some of the wives treat her like a pariah, a leper, when we meet to eat together ... they flatly refuse to talk to her, or even acknowledge her at all ... talking over her head, as if she wasn't there ... the boys, are not much better ....
frankly ... though I know it's a bad idea ... it's disgusting how some of us are when we look at ourselves from the outside .....
all the more I think, that it'll be a sort of mutual salvation, when I think whimsically of getting a MOB ...

I don't need a very large capacity.... around 45 litres oughta be enough.

I think the problem is xenophobia in Singapore
Hmmm come to think of it I dunno anyone who got themselves a MOB but for my family I have cousins who married Indonesians and Fillipinas etc and there was no problems whatsoever but they are not MOBs.
Also, I think some people think that selling yourself for a better life is no better than selling your body for money, therefore the disgusting behaviour.

An uncle of mine married three times, divorcing twice in the process.
His third wife is a Filipina who's pretty young.... she can't be more than a few years older than I am.
She's not a MOB, but still, I sensed there was quite a bit of friction in the family at first, especially with his second ex-wife.
Heck, it came as a bit of a shock to me at first.... I had never even heard of my uncle divorcing his second wife, much less heard of the third wife, when - kerblam! The second divorce and third marriage came in quick succession as a thunderstroke.

My aunt loves my cousin's Fillipina wife a lot
She's extremely intelligent and speaks fluent Hainanese and cooks well. Pretty too.
