Once again, this is a really funny ad on Aussie TV! However, it's not far removed from reality!
I thought you posted before, about permeates they add.
Drink organic milk, it's safer.

You have jumped to conclusions that this thread is on the same topic. Did you even bother clicking on the link to find out what the thread is REALLY about?

Sorry. Just clicked.
mmm.. milk...
*off to get some banana milk*
high protein, low fat, low lactose.. whatever the heck.. milk...
I've got Strawberry milk in the fridge that's like erm... 3 days past the expiry date.
Think I'll drink it tomorrow, since I'm off tomorrow, so even if I kena food poisoning, I can stay home the whole day and purge.
Isn't it interesting? I used to be lactose-intolerant for the longest time until I persisted in drinking milk and consuming all other dairy products.
Now, I think my intolerance for dairy products is pretty negligible!

Most Asians are lactose intolerant. But these days there are lactose free milk, but they cost a bomb as compared to Magnolia or Masters.
Didn't know you can traverse the lactose intolerance. Can you?
mom drank it all.. so i settled for an apple instead

yah.. you can slowly build up the level of whatever the heck they call that.. the stuff which metabolises or breaks down lactose.. lactase or something.. by slowly drinking larger amounts of milk gradually over a long period of time

It was ok, not particularly funny.
These days consumers are spoilt for choices, wide range of milk products, it's a way producers try to differentiate their products to capture niche markets.
But such differentiation bears no significance, because other producers can just copy the new product.

Must be some lactase enzyme.

Actually, I think once you lose the ability to produce lactase, the enzyme that helps to break down lactose, you cannot get it back again.
I reckon what happens is that one just gets used to dairy products, and somehow don't get as major a reaction to it as one used to get.
Perhaps, just a simple case of the body acclimatising itself to new conditions.
I was never lactose intolerant before
Maybe coz my mum fed us milk, cheese and yogurt when we were kids
