Hehe if you get a chance to, try a moisturiser with high Vitamin E content e.g. Rosken or Invite E, an Australian brand. They MAY BE on par with L'Occitane in terms of effectiveness cos of the Vit E ingredient, and significantly cheaper cos they're mass market brands. But they would not feel as luxurious nor smell as nice as L'Occitane lah :D
L'Occitane vs Avon, Vaseline and Cetaphil, not surprised that L'Occitane wins hands down. Vaseline only does petroleum jelly well, all their other products are "for fun" items, good for casual use all over body for light maintenance but not intensive enough for repair.
When it comes to beauty, for certain items you can't deny that money buys quality and performance. I can't find a a mass market shampoo and conditioner that works as well as salon brands. Mass brands are either too drying, else the conditioner causes significant hair loss during wash. It is something that I just have to splurge on.
Hey
Does it mean that oily skinned people do not need those moisturiser?
After years of neglect, I finally decided to do something. The rough and weather beaten surfaces makes me look old. Lots of marks and etc... Anyone has any idea wat to do?

I think you might need to start an exfoliation-wash-toner-light lotion regime.
As for marks, I think the only procedure that really removes them is IPL, which uses laser to kinda 'burn' the marks off by destroying the top few layers of skin, exposing a new layer without that mark. I think after such a procedure, you'll have to stay away from sunlight for a while to prevent pigmentation.
It's best to consult a beautician / dermatologist if you want professional advice.
