Reminds me of the time when I was a OJT on my ship (On-Job Trainee)......on top of learning, I of course had to do all the shit-work, which includes waking the next watch up in the silent hours.These were the possibilities:
1) Have already woken up bcos of the zhi dong nature.
2) Need to whisper into their ears, then the fella will wake up.
3) Need to poke the fella before the guy wakes up.
4) The worst, need to on the light, pull off the blanket.
Mind you, there were instances where I used method 4 on the wrong fella because the cabin is pitch black and I had to teekam. That usually earned me a telling-off.
And the best was this guy, woke him up, he sat up, orh orh orh. Then I left him, 30min later he did not go up to the bridge. I had to go down again, and the fella was sleeping like a pig. It took another 2 tries to wake him up. And he did not remember being woken up, even though he actually did sit up.
