Good morning, peeps!
Read this article about the recent incident on a Quantas plane :
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080726/tts-philippines-australia-air-qantas-inc-2c863b4.html
Would love to highlight the following :
"The plane involved in the incident is 17 years old and Sydney's Daily Telegraph reported that engineers discovered a large amount of corrosion in it during a major refurbishment earlier this year.
"Under the front page headline "Rust Bucket", the newspaper said the jet received a new interior at Melbourne's Avalon airport in March and said aviation sources had told it engineers had found a lot of corrosion.
They have chosen to save money, no matter that they are endangering lives in the process!!!
Qantas outsourced e maintenance services to bolehland as well
e corrosion prob I think it went into e media's limelight some time back
yeah and qantas said the fault was malaysia airlines'

erm, sia engineering handles servicing for this qantas too

It was a senior pilot from Quantas who made the allegations but, "The Australian-based airline has also confirmed the claim to be untrue."
Standards are slack here.
hur hur hur, was with my uncle's friends yesterday.
one of them who flies 1st and business class is wondering what is the big deal about the A380, he says its the same as any other 1st / business class on SIA.
my uncle who's with SIA engineering says its the advertising photography. on ads it looks grand, when u reach there u say "wtf?"

i dunno if the tix price for the a380 and 747 is the same
if its different, they better justify the price
oh, then the friend was saying they have this grand staircase in the A380 which they blocked off.
he's like, "wtf... u have a staircase there and u can't walk up or down."
I'm an Economy Class cattle, unfortunately. The only chance I'll ever get into 1st or Business Class would be if someone were to collapse there and I'll respond in my capacity as a Nurse.
That's one of the reason that kinda deters me from moving to the United States. I think of the bloody long flight back to Singapore in horribly cramped conditions and I feel like screaming!

Just wondering... did someone use the stairs when the plane encountered sudden turbulence and the poor passsenger slipped, fell and broke his neck or something?

i think its business to first. so first class can't come down to business or the other way round. i think moving between classes is applicable for let's say ur boss is flying 1st and ur in business.
but its silly, u have another set of staircase at the back of the aircraft (spiral staircase) to the top.

meaning he got e scholarship based on he being a poly student w/ good results

can you zzz during flights? i usually knock off for duration of flight - i even managed that on the low cost airline eg air asia - most peeps complain about the seats/leg room etc. nope, i didnt even take a sedative.
well another way of upgrading would be to find a tall tall tall companion and when they can't slot him on the emergency exit seats (coz all taken very early on), they upgrade him to biz class. as companion/GF/wife, you "can't bear to be apart from your darling"...they move you up as well. my sis's tactic! since my bro-in-law = super tall
i think tomorrow me can send my portfolio and namecard for print.
Hmm... just read this :
Hackers get hold of critical internet flaw
And I've just dutifully done the recommended action - headed to http://www.doxpara.com/ to run a check on my PC. Maybe you guys should too!
