There are so many skilled photographers in here and we are never short of amazing shots to oogle at.
However, I decided to start this thread because I'm sure all of us have some extremely ordinary point-and-shoot kinda shots that don't seem to have anything special on the surface, but they are full of emotions, sentiments and memories.
I thought it would be interesting to share such shots, and the detailed stories behind such shots so that we will be able to see the same photograph through a different perspective.
The photos you share here need not be technically-skilled and pro... they just need to have the power to stir us feelings within you.
Happy sharing!!
A very ordinary shot of Nunawading Station taken one Summer night last year...
Story behind the shot :
I had been invited to a colleague's party on a Sunday evening, but I had just worked a really exhausting Morning shift and by the end of the shift, I was really tempted to take a rain check.
However, I decided to overcome my fatigue and make the long, dreary journey there via tram and then train after a short nap.
I was the last to arrive and after a long tram and train ride, I had to walk more than 30 mins and got lost somehow. During the walk, I somehow broke my sunglasses and as street signs are few and far between in Melbourne, I wanted to just squat by the roadside and cry.
I finally found the place and arrived to find that the food was all but gone. I had a drink and chips with dips, and after sitting around for 30 mins, it was time to make the long walk back to the train station to catch the train before I had to wait another 45-55 mins for the next train.
As I stepped into the train station, I saw this scene above... and I was the only one in that station!! I felt so alone, so desolate, and yeah, a tad scared.
To add on to my grief, look at the announcement board... "All Stations EXCEPT East Richmond"... thanks, E Richmond was MY station!
All in, it was a journey that took a total of slightly over 3.5 hours for a 'party' that lasted just over 30 mins for me. The photo is not much to look at, but whenever I look at it, it reminds me of my ordeal!
The consolation is, my friend told me that I was her most precious guest because she knew what I had to go through to get there.
Hello! Is anyone up there?! Are you listening, God?
"If I look miserable enough, do you think the lady will take me home?"
I love Ragdolls and a few months back, the local pet shop had a litter of Ragdolls! Aren't they simply gorgeous little darlings?
Someday, I'll have at least a pair...
