  Without flash for micro images should be better......as far as I've tried.

  yeah. but so much easier to shoot! I can stop down to like f16 and use shutter speed of 1/1000 sec or faster!

  using only natural light I have to shoot nearly wide open and even then the shutter speed is very slow, so success rate drops dramatically.
